The Peugeot 203 is a medium sized saloon produced by the French manufacturer Peugeot between 1948 and 1960.
The car was exhibited at the Paris Motor Show in 1947, but by then had already been under development for more than five years. Volume manufacturing was initially hampered by strikes and shortages of materials[1], but production got under way in 1948.
The 203 was Peugeot’s first new
model launched after World War II. During its twelve year production run nearly 700,000 203s of all variants rolled off the assembly line in Sochaux, France. Between the demise of the 202 in 1949 and the launch of the 403 in 1954, the 203 was the only model produced by Peugeot.
As most Peugeots, it has a sunroof, too.
The number plate that you see was stuck by the crew of the MEGA television production “The Island” by Victoria Hislop. It is currently being filmed at Plaka, which is a village near Elounda, Agios Nicholaos, Crete. The “Island” is going to be a 9 episode series on Mega channel, sometime by the end of the year.
With this car I made the most enjoyable trip across Europe. It was discovered by the president, Andreas & Wanda Gavrilis, in Amsterdam, during the early part of the …millenium, and I went there a few months later to buy it. I had to do an electrical repair to the charging circuit before setting off, but then, she worked beautyfully. Extremely comfortable, reliable, and silent travelling at a steady speed of 100 km/h.

Εκανα ενα πολύ άνετο ταξίδι οδηγώντας το απο το Αμστερνταμ στην Κρήτη. Εξαίσια σισπανσιόν, αποδοτικό καλοριφέρ και απολύτως αθόρυβο στα 100 km/h.
Απο το 1948 μέχρι το 1960, 685.628 Peugeot 203 κατασκευάστηκαν.
